I started my career at Goldman Sachs in commodities sales and trading, covering clients through some of the most volatile years in recent market history (Covid, and then the Russian-Ukraine war). I became the firm's sole coal specialist at a commodities hedge fund and built its thermal coal analytics capability from the ground up: global supply–demand balances, seaborne flow models, China demand dashboards, vendor revision trackers, and scenario tools for weather, logistics, and policy shocks. Most recently I had a short stint in physical trading where I learnt how physical contracts, negotiation, operations and logistics work.
